Another Possible Way to take lots of Caffeine!

I do not know whether to label this product clever or insane. Probably a lot of both.

I have attached the link to two articles which appeared yesterday — one in the Washington Post, and the other in the Huffington Post.  Both concern a new product called AeroShot, which went on sale last month.  This is a plastic canister containing B vitamins and 100 mg of caffeine powder.  This is a “shot” via an inhaler as an oral dose of vitamins and caffeine.  The product is labeled as a dietary supplement.  Senator Schumer has already raised concerns with Commissioner Hamburg who has agreed to review the safety and legality of this product.  “Is this a dietary supplement if it is inhaled?” or “is this inhaler a delivery system that might trigger new drug or medical device status?”

I agree that are 2 issues at stake here: the safety of the product and its legality. What will prevent users to take several of those canisters in quick succession? Only their common sense at this point. If they do not have any, then they will get too much caffeine and it will not be so good for their health. Additionally this gives another bout of bad publicity to the industry.

The bottom line, I hope that no one gets hurt and that this product does not stay too long on the shelves.
